Description:
Green Latinos provides local meetups for Latinx environmental and conservation advocates across different states and cities in the country. Friends of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks and Nuestra Tierra, based in Las Cruces, will be hosting them in Las Cruces. These events are aimed to serve as an opportunity for local Latinx environmental advocates, community activists, and allies to learn from and network with each other. We hope that the event will take the form of an afternoon event including a panel followed by a reception. The five core priorities our speakers will be focused on are Clean Air & Climate, Clean Transportation, Water Equity, Public Lands and Environmental Justice.
This event will take place within the Endangered Monuments Exhibit in the Shannon room and serve as a draw for the community to come and interact with the exhibit.
